Training

Through our experience in this field, we know that staff training on diversity must start from an understanding of existing company culture. It must also be focussed on individuals as well as teams. This is because diversity is an attitude which individuals adopt, not just a skill to be learned.

Our ability to be flexible in terms of programme length, content and approach is one of the things that sets us out from other providers in this area. For example, we recently developed and ran a 'social awareness programme' for a client who had never done any form of equal opportunities training. The programme was successful because we had developed it from a clear understanding of that organisation's culture and staff attitudes; as a result we were able to communicate sensitively and staff responded positively.

Our training and development programmes cover everything from the essentials of equal opportunities awareness to intensive training for internal diversity investigators.

Train the Trainer

As well as providing training, HCC is happy to provide materials and develop clients' own in-house resources for the future. This is the next step for clients who already have knowledgeable HR staff or experienced investigators who feel they could pass on their skills by becoming trainers themselves.
